Venue Hotel The Lily ★★★

I am satisfied with this hotel. The room is small but it has all I need for a short stay. It’s very clean and tidy, the staff are helpful and friendly. I actually booked the wrong hotel, the wrong dates and the wrong room, but everything was flexible and turned out well. I was mostly served by Alvin who let me view two other rooms before I found the right one. What the hotel room lacked in space, its location made up for. It is located in an area with interesting restaurants and shops. Moreover, at both ends of the street are food centres. At Dunman food centre, I had the most delicious vadai (Singapore Vadai). I would recommend this hotel to single travellers especially (because of the room size) but also couples who would be spending time outdoors most of the time and can return to a comfortable bed in the evening. Also suitable for families looking for a price-quality decent place to stay in a interesting area with a local flavour and great atmosphere.

The bathroom with WC gets totally wet after using the shower.

Location was good. Walking distance to most amenities; the PLQ mall, SMRT and food joints.

Everything was okay. I already knew our room won't have windows so no complaints.

There's no parking lot for car and motor.

Location is AMAZING! Joo Chiat is the best location to stay, and very close to the big tourist attractions like Marina Bay and Gardens By the Bay. The hotel itself is simple and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is a good value considering how expensive Singapore is.

I wish the room description had explained that this was an internal room with no windows. Considering our needs it worked, but it was a bit of a surprise.

Location, Room, Value

The person who received us for check-in did not even greet us, and did not reply when I greeted as well and kept a very cold face till the end. The other staff whom we saw during the daytimes were very friendly.

Location is very close to the airport, 15min drive by Taxi. Friendly staff. Water complimentary.

The pictures are zoomed out, the rooms are extremely tiny, they could barely fit in one person, bad air quality, the shower is right above the toilet sit, and pay attention to the description “no window”

ROom size was average however the hotel staff was helpful and nice. I stayed close to 4 nights. MRT station is little far and there are no malls around to have food. However there is a 7 eleven store and some small restaurants to have food.

Just the location is little away from main spots

Convenient to the bus station and food surrounding it.

No automatic facilities. I need to contact them for it.

On 16 July 2021, around noon, the hotel's room steward whom i approached, was most helpful when we needed extra towels & pillows.. He readily put fresh pillow cases on before handing them over etc. I was impressed but felt bad too for interrupting him in his work. The steward in question was a young man with a foreign accent.

Only credit cards are accepted. Other hotels do Not make an issue of it, as long as you can pay for your stay. Is it legal to reject debit card use because of a few black sheep in the community? Just like coins are also legal tender and it is illegal for any business to accept only dollar notes. In Singapore where the MAS does Not allow unconditional credit card issuance, those who only have debit cards will be left in the cold...in the context of Venue Hotel's policy. They can neither access hotel & other services nor contribute to the domestic economy.

Staff polite & professional handling so comfortable will stay again keep it up for good work.. Cheers!!

The facet of the building is brand new. Rooms are clean and newly decorated. The neighborhood looks good.

The room is kind of small. The bathroom is like 1 square meter large. No separate bath area. Also, the refrigerator is not cold enough. Overall, I think the hotel is good, but it’s value-price ratio is not the greatest in Singapore.

If you need an out of sg experience, its a unique part to be in to discover & explore on foot. An area with unique eateries & old shops. Within walking distance to the mall and market. Liked the simple, minimalist & clean room. Would come back again.

Bathroom was a little small, however was okay once you get used to it.

Would like to thank the Front office team for upgrading us and for being very accommodating to us. Great location too with a nostalgic neighbourhood and is unbelievably localised. Will be back for sure!!! Keep up the great work, team.

room was nice and clean.

the aircon was really cold and we couldnt change the temperature.

Room was very comfortable. Convenient location for amenities, with diverse food options available. Perfect for a 1 night stay to chill, at a very good rate.

Possible to sweep under the beds occasionally? Dropped my eyebrow pencil underneath and when I tried to get it, found a broken piece of glass under. Probably have to be more careful.

location wise is really convenient easily accesible to many eateries around the area

The walls may be too thin can hear banging and prople talking throughout the night...
